Compressor station
Any combination of facilities that supply the energy to move gas in transmission or distribution lines or into storage by increasing the pressure.
Used during the transportation of gas. Gas loses pressure as it travels long distances: to ensure an even flow it must be recompressed at the stations located every 60 km to 80 km along the route.
