LIGHT WATER REACTOR
A term used to describe reactors using ordinary water as coolant, including boiling water reactors (BWRs) and pressurized water reactors (PWRs), the most common types used in the United States.
A nuclear reactor that uses water as the primary coolant and moderator, with slightly enriched uranium as fuel.
(LWR) - A nuclear power unit that uses ordinary water to cool its core. The LWR may be a boiling water reactor or a pressurized water reactor.
