Equivalent Circulating Density
For a circulating fluid, the equivalent circulating density in lbs/gallon is equal to the hydrostatic head of the annular fluid (psig) plus the total annular frictional pressure loss (in psig) caused by the fluids circulating in the annulus, divided by the depth (feet) and a conversion factor of 0. 52.
